Wheeler & Taylor Real Estate Acquires Longtime Competitor
Douglas Goudey, President of Wheeler & Taylor Real Estate Company, announced today that his company has acquired longtime competitor Isgood Realty. This acquisition brings Isgood under the umbrella of a local Berkshire-based firm founded well over a century ago by Robert K. Wheeler.
“One of our goals is to further strengthen our position in the Berkshire marketplace so that we can do even more for our clients and community,” said Goudey. We understand the Berkshires and the local market better than anybody. We are locally invested and community focused. Now we can take our exceptional service to the next level by working together.”
Isgood Realty, established in 1948 by Isodore Goodman in Pittsfield, has a history of innovation. Many of the marketing and sales tools common throughout the county today started with Isgood. It was the first company to have local offices hroughout the county for client convenience, first to create a “Book of Homes,” and first to host “Open Houses.”
Richard “Dick” Krzynowek, President of Isgood Realty from 1980 until his passing in 2017, continued the tradition of service to the community. His broad knowledge of the marketplace, business acumen and personality made him the “go to” person for real estate in the Berkshires.
“Extraordinary service and a depth of understanding about the local community are just two of the reasons why we’ve had such a long history of success,” said James Mercer, CEO of Isgood. “I believe that tradition will be further enhanced with Wheeler & Taylor. Their 148 year track record speaks for itself.”
A market leader since 1871, Wheeler & Taylor is a full-service real estate firm comprised of a talented, highly motivated, and diverse team with extensive experience in all phases of real estate transactions.
